What is a Yoni Egg
Yoni Eggs are semi-precious healing stones carved into the shape of an egg that a Goddess places into her vagina. A yoni is a sanskrit word for vagina that means sacred space. The symbol of an egg represents fertility. The purpose of the egg shape is for the woman's womb to receive the healing stone.
Benefits of a Yoni Egg
Some of the amazing benefits of yoni eggs are:
Which Egg is Right for Me
Each egg has its own healing properties. There are many types of stones that a Goddess can work with. Let your intuition be your guide. In traditional Taoist practices, practitioner use three types of crystal eggs: Jade, Rose Quartz and Obsidian. These have been used safely for thousands of years. Keep in mind not every egg is designed to be safely inserted into the yoni. PLEASE DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH and USE YOUR OWN INTUITION to make decisions that are best for you. Below is a list of yoni eggs that can be toxic and that a Goddess SHOULD NOT USE:
Does Size Matter
Yoni eggs usually come in large, medium, or small . The smaller the egg, the harder it is to feel and keep in. The larger the egg, the easier it is to feel so a Goddess will experience faster results. Rule of Thumb: start with a larger size and work your way down. Small is for seasoned Goddesses who have mastered the art of muscle control. We recommend large or medium for beginners and intermediate.
How to Cleanse a Yoni Egg
Please inspect your yoni egg for cracks prior to use. DO NOT USE if external cracks are present. To physically clean an egg, wash with soap and water. Another option is to place in boiled water that has been removed from heat for 10 mins. If your hand can tolerate the water, so can your yoni egg otherwise your egg can crack.
To energetically cleanse your egg, smudge with sage or palo santo 2-3 times per week. REMEMBER to charge your egg in UV light from the sun or moon by placing it outside or on a window seal where it is safe. Charge your egg for 24 hours or more. This replenishes energy lost during the healing process.
How to Insert a Yoni Egg May
RELAX! If you are tense, inserting the egg will be a challenge. Take a warm bath, shower, or warm your body with a personal massage. Position yourself lying on your back or in horse stance. Insert the egg with the large end first just past the vaginal opening. The goal is to use your muscles or kegels to guide the egg the rest of the way to its destination. Alternative: coconut oil can be use to help guide the yoni egg into place.
Egg is Falling Out
Welcome to a NORMAL part of the process. Most Goddesses have never exercised the pelvic floor muscles before. If keeping your egg in is becoming a challenge, then you made the right choice by deciding to work with a yoni egg. Insert your egg and sit in meditation a few times per week squeezing and releasing your muscles. Doing this in as little as 10 min each time will begin to strengthen your muscles. With consistent practice, you will be able to retain your egg against gravity fairly quickly.
My Egg is Stuck
Great News! Your egg is NOT stuck. Honor the healing that is taking place within your sacred space. Your yoni will release the egg when it is ready. Emotions may be stirred up at this time. This is a great time to journal your experience, take a nice womb bath with dead sea salt, drink herbal tea, meditate, do yoga and most importantly be kind to yourself. To expel the egg: RELAX. Being tense contracts muscles. Squat or sit on the toilet. Bear down with the muscles you use to have a bowel movement. You can also use coconut oil to assist. FYI: be ready to catch the egg if you are on the toilet. If you still cannot expel it on demand, remember it is safe to keep your egg in for long periods of time. Some women keep them in for weeks at a time.
